Database Administrator

Arthur Grand Technologies is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled **Database Administrator - Senior** for one of our clients.

**Job Title: Database Administrator - Senior**

**Location: Toronto, Ontario (Onsite)**

**Duration: Long Term Contract**

**MUST HAVES**:
**MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS**:
At least 5 years of experience with:

- Oracle RDBMS 11-12 in a Windows environment and SQL Server RDBMS 2008-2019
- Database installation, upgrade, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup and recovery. Expertise required with standard database development tools and utilities: TOAD, SQL Server Management Studio, TFS
- SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Reporting Services

**SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**:

- 5+ years’ experience and expert knowledge of Oracle RDBMS 11-12 in a Windows environment and SQL Server RDBMS 2008-2019
- 5+ years’ experience in database installation, upgrade, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup and recovery. Expertise required with standard database development tools and utilities: TOAD, SQL Server Management Studio, TFS
- 5+ years’ experience in using SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Reporting Services
- Extensive hands-on experience and expert knowledge with designing and developing data warehouses and data marts.
- Extensive knowledge of Windows Server 2012 and later, Windows 10 and later
- Extensive knowledge of data and information architecture
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to provide technical solutions for business requirements; provide technical solutions to infrastructure related issues
- Knowledge of IT Service Management best practices (Change, Configuration, Problem and Incident Management).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

**Experience and Skill Set Requirements**

**CRITERIA**:
**Criteria 1 - Database Administration (35 Points)**
- Demonstrated experience working within operation systems environments such as Windows 10, Windows Server 2012/2016.
- Demonstrated experience administering database management systems such as SQL Server 2012-2019 & Oracle 11-12
- Demonstrated experience in creating user profiles and ensuring system security by allocation of user permissions.
- Demonstrated experience in backup and recovery strategy for the database, and regularly testing the backups to ensure usability.

**Criteria 2 - Database Development (35 Points)**
- Demonstrated experience with designing and developing data warehouse and data marts
- Demonstrated experience with TOAD, SQL Reporting Services, TFS, VISIO and Share Point
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and optimizing the database’s performance using either manual or automated tools

**Criteria 3 - SQL Reporting (15 Points)**
- Demonstrated experience in writing, changing, maintaining and supporting Reports using SQL Reporting Services, SQL Reporting Services deployment and portal customization
- Demonstrated experience in producing complex report designs and conducting implementation including drill-down and charting

**Criteria 4 - Analytical and Communications Skills (15 Points)**
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
