Elections Canada offers a hybrid work model which permits telework in most situations. However, as of September 9, 2024 employees are expected to work onsite at least 3 days per week (or a minimum of 60% of their working schedule). This includes one fixed day onsite for all employees of the same team and two flexible days (i.e. not fixed) at an onsite location. Work arrangements outside of this model will be considered on an exceptional basis only.

EDUCATION
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, or economics AND experience relevant to the duties of the position to be staffed
AND
OCC1: Eligibility for a recognized Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES
EXP1: Significant experience* in performing audits such as: financial audit, compliance audit, or risk base auditing.

EXP2: Significant experience* analyzing and synthesizing financial information from multiple sources to identify issues and providing recommendations to management**.

EXP3: Significant experience* in providing guidance to internal or external clients.
- Significant experience is defined as depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of those duties on a regular basis for a period of approximately two (2) years or more. However, a shorter duration may be considered based on demonstrated complexity and diversity of work handled, scope of work, and/or level of direct responsibility for a wide variety of complex files and/or projects.

**Management is defined as supervisor, manager level and above.

EXP4: Experience using advance formulas and/or functions of Microsoft Excel e.g. VLOOKUP, and PivotTable.

ASSET CERTIFICATION
Possession of a recognized professional accounting, internal auditing or fraud examination designation (CPA, CIA or CFE).

ASSET EXPERIENCE
AEXP1: Significant experience* in providing advice and interpretations related to complex issues under any statutes administered Acts (i.e., Canada Elections Act, the Income Tax Act, Excise Tax Act).
