**SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT**

Cowater International’s Communications and Marketing Department is responsible for managing the company’s communications efforts and corporate outreach and ensuring effective visibility for Cowater’s work and impact. The team works across other corporate functions and in close collaboration with the Programs team to ensure effective communication of the organization’s priorities, results and implementation expertise with both internal and external audiences, with the goal of maximizing Cowater’s reach and strategically targeting key audiences.

**SUMMARY OF THE POSITION**

The Digital Communications and Marketing Officer will be an integral part of the Communications and Marketing team. The incumbent will work closely with project teams across Cowater’s hubs, as well as other corporate functions to ensure the identification, co-creation, development and dissemination of a wide range of digital and online communications products. The Officer’s role will aim to effectively position Cowater’s work and results with key donors, enable the company’s recognition in diverse country contexts and across priority sectors and enhance Cowater’s ability to generate new business, build partnerships and enable growth.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Digital Communications and Marketing Officer will undertake the following duties and responsibilities.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure the effective integration of development messages, learning and impact into corporate and project-level communications;
- Corporate creative leadership by designing and leading all marketing and brand collateral, including website, style guides, presentations, social/print media, etc;
- Hands-on design of print ads, brochures, presentations, social media graphics, providing all required specifications (colors, fonts, papers, sizes) to printers, as needed;
- Align digital marketing initiatives with key objectives and priorities, gain real time insights into audience behavior and leverage insights to deliver relevant online audience experiences;
- Employ all available web tools and data-tracking instruments to measure the performance of the corporate website and social media channels and to analyze and report on it effectively;
- Ensure cohesion of brand messaging across corporate service lines;
- Manage and grow corporate social media pages, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn;
- Support corporate business development activities, including providing inputs into corporate proposals, expressions of interest, etc.;
- Support the co-creation and promotion of knowledge products across Cowater’s corporate and project communications channels, including blogs, case studies, feature stories, program briefs and other materials;
- Maintain an excellent level of communication with stakeholders, project partners and staff;
- Other duties and functions as may be required and directed from time to time.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

**Education**:

- Bachelor's degree in communications, graphic design, marketing, international development, public policy or related discipline;
Minimum Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years of communications and design experience in a corporate environment, including layout and web management, graphic design, and social media;
Essential Skills:

- Ability to think strategically and rapidly synthesize information from varied sources into concise and impactful messages and conclusions;
- Analytical capacity and demonstrated ability to process and analyze technical information from different sectors;
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and balance multiple priorities simultaneously, while executing against key deliverables with excellence;
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with employees across all levels of the organization;
- Solid understanding of the digital communications landscape, including trends in social media and web platforms. Clear command of leading-edge communications, measurement and analytics tools;
Social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.);
Web management tools and analytics (WordPress, Google Analytics etc.);
Expert Adobe skills (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) and ability to create/modify vector graphics
- A creative thinker that can produce new ideas and concepts with strong attention to detail;
- Initiative to own the process from initial concept to production-ready solution;
- Mature judgment and initiative;
- Good communication and organizational skills;
- Prior experience in international development is an asset.

Language Proficiency:

- Perfectly Bilingual (English/French);
Employment Conditions:
