Human Resources Generalist

**1. Recruitment & Onboarding**
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Prepare and issue offer letters, employment contracts, and onboarding documentation.
- Facilitate orientation sessions for new hires and support their integration into the company.
**2. Employee Relations**
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding company policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Support the resolution of employee concerns, escalating issues to HR Manager when necessary.
- Promote a positive workplace culture and assist with employee engagement initiatives.
**3. HR Administration**
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
- Ensure timely updates of employee status changes, benefits enrollment, and other personnel data.
- Generate HR-related reports and documentation as needed.
**4. Benefits & Compensation Support**
- Assist employees with benefits-related questions and claims.
- Support annual benefits renewal and open enrollment processes.
- Help administer payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, salary adjustments) in coordination with Payroll Manager.
**5. Compliance & Policy Administration**
- Ensure HR practices comply with labour laws and employment standards (e.g., ESA, OHSA).
- Assist with updating and maintaining HR policies and employee handbook.
- Track and report workplace health and safety incidents and support compliance documentation.
**6. Performance Management & Training Support**
- Assist with performance review tracking and coordination.
- Support learning and development initiatives, including scheduling training sessions and maintaining records of employee training.
- Monitor probationary periods and remind managers of performance review timelines.
**7. Termination & Offboarding**
- Prepare and issue termination letters
- Coordinate offboarding processes including exit interviews, final pay, and benefits termination.
- Ensure the return of company property and secure removal of system access.
**8. General Support**
- Support HR Manager or CFO with ad hoc projects and initiatives.
- Participate in internal meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Stay current on HR best practices, trends, and legislative updates in Ontario.
**Education & Certification**
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of labour laws, ESA (Employment Standards Act), OHSA, and Human Rights Code.
**Experience**
- 2-4 years of experience in a Human Resources generalist or coordinator role.
- Hands-on experience with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR administration.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word).
**Skills & Competencies**
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment legislation in Ontario.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently while supporting team goals.
**Assets (Nice to Have)**
- Experience supporting payroll or benefits administration.
- Previous experience in a multi-location environment.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but not required
**Work Arrangement**:Hybrid (3 days in office)
