Education - SAIT Construction Estimating Certificate or equivalent
Experience - Experience an asset

Specific Skills
- Advise on tendering procedures
- Utilize quantity take-off procedures
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
- Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
- Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
- Estimate pre-contract costs
- Analyze tenders and recommend awards
- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
- Be able to estimate residential and small commercial projects.
- Understand quantities and measurements and general construction practices used in the construction industry
- Interpret blueprints
- Analyze a complete project scope through contract documents
- Develop accurate take-offs
- Demonstrate research techniques for industry-specific information
- Deliver precise estimates
- Interact effectively in written, verbal and interpersonal environments
