**About this opportunity**
Reporting to the General Manager, this position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a fulfillment and inventory warehouse operation. The incumbent will be responsible for the planning, fulfillment, inventory, shipping and receiving of materials and fixtures for customers. This position will also evaluate and initiate process improvements in support of our continuous improvement strategies through focusing on increasing production output while managing costs. Additionally, this position is responsible for scheduling, payroll, training and developing of fulfilment, customer service, administration and shipping/receiving employees.
**What you will do**
- Manage and coordinate the day-to-day ensuring the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising warehouse employees, establishing and monitoring operation goals, and controlling inventory and logistics;
- Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping;
- Train and manage a warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short
- and long-term performance goals;
- Set yearly employee performance objectives and conduct year-end performance appraisals, while ensuring appraisals are completed fairly and in a timely way to meet scheduled dates;
- Coordinate, maintain and circulation of service reports, inventory, receiving, inventory replenishment, retailer database and profiles, generate reports monthly;
- Manage communication process with customer on behalf of Transcontinental, acting as a liaison to plan, develop and execute effective retail collateral distributions;
- Provide a status report to client on a regular basis and attend regular inter-agency status meetings to capture relevant changes/updates to campaign launch requirements and timelines;
- Communicate project requirements, initiate any necessary programming changes and provide database in an organized manner to the Transcontinental production team;
- Oversee and manage the logistics utilized to transport products to customers and internal facilities, communicating with drivers and Logistics Team to ensure efficient delivery of packages/material;
- Recognize where timelines may be in jeopardy and escalate as appropriate to ensure that client requirements are met;
- Provide the Transcontinental team with upcoming project forecasts, current project timelines and priorities;
- Process rush order requests as required;
- Manage employee overtime requests and ensure that the plant receives adequate notice for all off-shift/weekend work;
- Ensure work areas are tour ready and organized at all times;
- Responsible for the accuracy, security and control of inventory and secured areas;
- Organize, control and manage department to effectively deliver the required product to the required locations within pre-defined timelines;
- Responsible for reducing operating costs while improving service, accuracy and quality;
- Coordinate the team schedule which includes the administration of employee payroll/timesheets, vacation time and attendance management;
- Perform all other duties as requested by Management in order to help the team effort;
- Fully understand and adhere to all relevant Environmental, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Continuous Improvement, Security and Company policies and procedures;
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario, the Workplace Safety Insurance Act and all other applicable legislated environmental, health & safety regulations;
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by understanding and adhering to all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
**What you have to offer**
- Post-secondary education related to fulfilment or warehouse management and/or equivalent work experience;
- Operational experience with all functional areas of shipping, receiving, fulfillment and inventory management;
- Successful quality management and process improvement experience would be an asset;
- Familiarity with material handling and material management systems;
