: The Claims Analyst reviews and analyzes incoming claims information relating to multiple classes of business with a specific focus on losses arising from the Marine & Specialty and Casualty portfolios. Responsibilities include validation of coverage, reconciliation of broker support, preparation of claims payments for settlement and maintenance of an accurate record of loss development. KEY RESPONSIBILITES: - Monitor and analyze claim information received from cedents, brokers and market sources to ensure timely, effective and efficient management of reinsurance claims; - Review loss notices and support provided against reinsurance contracts to ensure accuracy, completeness and confirm eligibility for coverage under existing reinsurance contract terms and conditions; - Reconcile loss information, highlighting any discrepancies and correspond with cedents’ brokers to request additional information or clarification as the need arises; - Maintain an accurate and complete record of claim movements as verified against loss support; - Prepare claims payment requests for presentation to Claims Manager for approval; - Interface with and management of SICS/nt and claim’s Workflow to create new claims, manage supporting documentation and record loss information; - Provide periodic and detailed claim reporting to management; - Liaise with Operations and Underwriting Departments to coordinate settlement of payments, resolve queries, and ensure that sensitive loss information is handled appropriately; - Other duties as required REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: - University degree with a minimum of five (5) years in a reinsurance role - Evidence of progression towards an industry certification (ARe, CPCU) preferred - Solid knowledge of reinsurance principles, contracts, and business operations required - Attention to detail and accuracy with demonstrated ability to think critically and identify and implement solutions in a timely manner - Good problem-solving skills - Experience with SICS/nt claim system preferred and good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel - Proven organizational and timekeeping skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Motivated self-starter who shows initiative and willingness to take on new tasks - The ability to deal effectively and courteously with clients and colleagues, working both independently as well as part of a team - Must be able to work outside of normal office hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays if necessary A look at our Benefits We're proud to offer a range of employee benefits and resources that help you protect what matters most - your health care, savings, financial protection and wellbeing.
