About the role

The Intermediate Data Analytics and Integration Specialist be responsible for developing and supporting solutions within the Validus ecosystem as well as assisting the Business Transformation team within their AGILE project methodology framework. This will include working with senior business and IT stakeholders to ensure the development priorities are correctly aligned and prioritized. Additionally, the role will work with the Application Support and Service desk teams to assist with troubleshooting issues, and general ticket resolution tasks where applicable.

What you need to know:

- The Intermediate Data Analytics and Integration Specialist will be responsible for delivering small to medium sized projects. It is expected that 25% of your time will be allocated towards business analysis and coordinating the efforts of the business and development teams. The remaining 75% will be hands on writing code, troubleshooting issues, system support, executing test cases, etc. This is very much a generalist position where you will need to wear many hats.
- This is a hands-on position requiring strong analyst skills and technical and business expertise.
- Working with IT colleagues to understand and document available data sources and their integrations
- Collaborating with other team members to design solutions and ensure that business requirements are met
- Providing guidance to project teams to improve the quality of the product and processes
- Project management duties will include issue log tracking, schedule monitoring, resource allocation, ability to push back constructively when needed and communicating project status to the project stakeholders.
- Investigate operational requirements, problems, and opportunities, seeking effective business reporting solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed reporting processes
- Obtain formal agreement by stakeholders and recipients to scope and requirements and establish a base-line on which delivery of a solution can commence
- Designing and planning BI Reporting solutions including OLTP and dimensional data modeling, ETL processing and cubes
- Reverse engineering complex SQL code and translating it into an easy to maintain solution
- Building robust, fault tolerant data processes
- Other duties as required

What we’re looking for:

- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years experience
- Ability to manage small to medium-sized projects and teams
- Power Platform - including work experience with Canvas Power Apps, Power Automate, Custom Connectors, and Dataverse
- SQL Server - including advanced TSQL, SSIS, and performance tuning
- Developing C# REST APIs using Docker and K8S
- PowerBI, SSRS, or Tableau
- Knowledge of ITIL processes, SOX Compliance and SDLC (Waterfall and Agile) methodologies
- Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to clearly explain complex business and technical issues, procedures, and processes in verbal and written format to an audience of managers and directors.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to function independently and produce results that meet standards of quality, timeliness, and acceptability.

Preferred:

- Business knowledge of Accounting, Insurance or Re-insurance
- Experience of working in a multi-country, multi-site environment
- Azure DevOps and Git
