The primary role of the mining technician is to perform surveying duties, complete as built drawings, assist with short-term scheduling and perform QAQC checks on underground work and other duties as requested by the Superintendent as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Mining/Survey/Engineering Technician Diploma (2 years or greater required) or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years' experience in underground operating mine sites is preferred.
- Proficiency with Deswik, AutoCad, Amine, or alternate drafting/mining software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of surveying using Leica survey equipment

**Tasks**:

- Responsible for mine surveying, including field layout of mine design, laser advance for mining machines, pick-ups of as-built mine excavations, and other location, elevation and layout requirements.
- Responsible for providing other survey support to operations in both underground and surface locations.
- Responsible for in-field data collection, system maintenance, and preliminary reporting of the Rock Mechanics Information System
- monitoring ground movement in the underground through various means.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining mine maps (as-built, ventilation, egress, etc...).
- Responsible for other miscellaneous work as assigned by their supervisor.
- Accountable for the time, quality, and cost of the above tasks.

- Ability to prioritize and work as part of a team.

**Health and Safety**:

- Following Company health and safety standards and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to Supervisor
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
