Intermediate Estimator/project Manager Construction

Essential Duties & Responsibilities.
- Prepare documentation for municipal contracts,
- Reviewing shop drawings and follow up with suppliers; coordinating the work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project.
- Develop a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of the project
- Responsibility for proper administration of construction contracts and for ensuring all necessary permits and licenses are in place.
- Keeping a daily log of site activities on the project including but not limited to: All trades and number of personnel/trade, description of work, weather, and safety hazards or issues.
- Managing all aspects of safety on site.
- Maintaining professional conduct and a good working relationship at all times with owners, consultants, trades, suppliers and the public.
- Receiving, tracking and inspection of field purchases and materials, keeping daily records of labour, equipment, concrete, aggregates, rentals, subcontracts.
- Support cost control, proper coding and managing project within budget.
- Identifying problems early and immediately notifying to superior.
- Willing to take on training, learn new skills and grasp development opportunities, motivated to continually build knowledge as well as sharing expertise with others
- Prepare quantity and cost estimates
- Assist in the preparation of tender specifications for projects
- Other duties as required where appropriate for the position
Required Credentials
- Graduate from a 2 to 3 year College level Civil/Municipal Engineering program.
- 5+ years of progressive experience with an interest in Municipal.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience with roads, rail and pedestrian bridges, retaining walls and other civil structures
- Working knowledge of MTO and other local municipality bridge drafting standards
- Experience with surveying equipment
- Demonstrated experience with Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and AutoCAD
- Highly organized with the ability to coordinate work across multiple teams and job sites
- Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written.
- A valid G driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team as an enthusiastic team player;
- Excellent technical, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of Spanish would be an asset
**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract, Permanent
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
