**Job Function**:This position will support the assembly, installation, commissioning, operation and service of hydrogen generation and utilization equipment at our customers sites and for our in-house systems.
As an Electro-Mechanical Technician, you will be hands-on, supporting all equipment assemblies, and installs including but not limited to planning out the hydrogen tubing runs, supporting component installs, tubing install and system testing.
The Service and Support Technician is to hold a valid TSSA-H2 Certificate or willing to work towards the certification by working under our TSSA-H2 technicians and studying to challenge the exam with an expected completion within 12-18 months.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assemble products at our facility, deliver and install at customer sites, commission the entire system, support the product at customers sites.
- Hands-on Service & Support to develop, implement and service all aspects of product delivery and service, including:
- Install hydrogen gas systems including but not limited to plumbing, control valves, storage cylinders, distribution headers and dispensers.
- Install hydrogen plumbing
- Install all hydrogen system related components
- Install chillers/coolers and related equipment and plumbing at customer sites, commission the systems, support the product at customers sites.
- Perform pressure tests
- Commission hydrogen systems
- Test performance of electromechanical assemblies
- Perform commissioning and operational testing/operation of complete hydrogen systems.
- Read blueprints, diagrams, schematics, to determine methods and sequences of product assembly and/or testing methods
- Component and system troubleshooting and repair
- Diagnose, analyze, repair electro-mechanical, electronic, mechanical and instrumentation
- Troubleshoot PLC issues
- Balance-of-plant assembly
- On-site installation and commissioning
- 24/7 service support, scheduled on-call and after-hours support
- perform daily preventative maintenance of products in the field
- Ensure product assembly and service milestones are met on time.
- Assist the development team in establishing testing capabilities.
- Execute product deliveries.
- Support service and maintenance contracts within our facility and at our customers facilities.
- Help to promote and expand service capabilities and scope.
- Work with the operations team to ensure that the QMS is fully adhered to.
- Proactively pursue strong positive relationships with all company staff. Promote a culture of accountability. Promote an atmosphere exuding confidence, excitement, and enthusiasm.
- Assist the hydrogen generation product development team with product cooling requirements
- Attend regular meetings with project engineers and/or managers to provide project status updates and present any outstanding issues.
**Preferred Experience/Qualifications**:
- TSSA-H2 Certified Technician preferred but willing to train
- Experience in the Hydrogen and/or natural gas industry
- Strong skills in:
- Hands-on assembly, troubleshooting and repair
- Operate in a team environment: team direction, training/coaching, motivation, flexible to multiple tests
- Detail oriented with excellent verbal and reporting communication abilities
- Product and system troubleshooting
- Mechanical, electrical and controls experience
- Knowledge of quality management systems.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Willing to be available on call for service support
- Willing to work all shifts. This could be scheduled permanent and/or rotating
- Willing to travel for extended periods when required
- Valid driver’s license and use of their vehicle to attend job sites.
**Education**:
- Completed a post-secondary diploma or specialized course in a related field or equivalent experience and demonstrated ability and accomplishments.
- Minimum 5 years hands-on experience working with electrical, automation, process equipment installation, wiring, commissioning, and service.
