Learn more. **Working for the Department of Psychiatry** Psychiatry is a department in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta. Our department couples basic science with clinical research to promote world-class investigations on issues relevant to mental health. The Department also has a diverse group of outstanding scientists who are internationally recognized. These scientists are carrying out some of the leading-edge research in neuropsychiatry, mood and anxiety disorders, and schizophrenia. **Position Summary** The Research Associate will lead and assist with clinical pharmacogenomics project management and execution. They will be responsible for leading/contributing to clinical pharmacogenomics research project study design, data collection, data analysis, interpretation and evaluation, presentation/communication, and preparing material for publication. They will also be responsible for clinical pharmacogenomics research project management including oversight of monitoring project resources and administration. **Duties** - With approval, and under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, conducts a major portion of research projects independently in service to the overall research goals/objectives. Also provide leadership for the clinical pharmacogenomics research portion of the Precision Addiction and Mental Health (AMH) Lab, assisting with strategic advice and direction; and is accountable for planning, negotiating, problem solving, risk assessment and prevention, and operational oversight of resources. - Designs, tests, and evaluates advanced research methodology, protocols, and techniques to ensure alignment with research goals/ objectives. - Oversees and implements data collection and analysis. Conducts quality analysis and quality assurance on methodology/experimental approaches and techniques. - Manages the use of resources within research projects. Ensures proper accountability of resources to the Principal Investigator and to funders. **Qualifications** - Clinical experience in the field of Psychiatry, MD with specialization in Psychiatry - PhD with more than 5 years of postdoctoral experience - Extensive experience and knowledge in the etiology and treatment of psychiatric disorders, including in adults with mood disorders - Experience in pharmacogenomics and genomics in neuropsychiatry We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted.
