Title: Indigenous Cultural Safety & Humility Primary Care Education Specialist
**Salary**: $86,778 - $102,091 - $117,405 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hrs, Monday - Friday (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Metro Vancouver office - Alberni office, on the ancestral Coast Salish Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Hybrid working in line with FNHA’s flex work policy. (Hybrid - minimum 50% in the office)
**About the role**
As an Indigenous Cultural Safety & Humility (ICS&H) Primary Care Education Specialist, you will work collaboratively to support the education materials and tools to enhance awareness and understanding of Cultural Safety and Humility for physicians in BC who provide services that reflect the cultures and perspective of BC First Nations. It is an exciting opportunity to work with FNHA and key stakeholders to ensure cultural safety and humility is embedded in physician and healthcare workers onboarding and lifelong learning.
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have:
**Education**
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (health administration, policy, business, etc.) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Firm grasp on Cultural Safety and Humility best practices and relevant certifications
- Training and experience in advancing cultural safety and humility, and/or equity and diversity inclusion
**Experience**
- 4-6 years of experience in educational materials development (Health Sector background is an asset)
- Proven experience of public speaking, facilitation of workshops and delivery of educational materials
**Knowledge**
- Familiarity with the Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (BC), the recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the “In Plain Sight” report, the national inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, and the impacts of these on health, health care and health care design for Indigenous people.
- Knowledge of relevant socio-historical events relevant to First Nations in Canada
- Knowledge of BC and Canadian healthcare system is an asset
You may have experience in: Cultural Competency Specialist - Primary Care, Cultural Humility Educator, Cultural Safety and Health Equity Specialist.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
