Additionally, the role will be responsible for campus operational event coordination to York University ensuring event requirements are reviewed and implemented as required with mínimal impact to the York community. In addition, the incumbent is expected to make recommendations on means of improving the delivery of services to community members/visitors. The role is responsible for the effective management and supervision of Transportation drivers as well as ensuring that shuttle and transportation services provided by the University are operating in a cost effective and reliable manner. **Education**: Post-secondary diploma. Valid Ontario G" class driver's license or higher in good standing and an acceptable drivers' abstract. **Experience**: 3 years' related experience. 1 year of management of supervisory experience. Experience working in a unionized environment. **Skills**: Knowledge Thorough understanding of Transportation, Vehicle and Traffic Regulations Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance proceduresSkills Leadership and teamwork skills. Problem solving, analytical, facilitative and mediation skills. Ability to develop relationships with community groups. Ability to use tact and diplomacy. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team. Ability to effectively exercise sound judgment. Ability to handle fluctuating workloads, conflicting priorities and concurrent responsibilities. Ability to take initiative and set priorities. Effective communication, organization, and planning skills Intermediate spreadsheet (MS Excel), Intermediate word processing (MS Word) and Intermediate electronic presentation skills (MS PowerPoint. MS Visio) **Additional Notes**: Normal office work environment (80%). Remote campus sites including building shop areas (20%). - **Compensation**: York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
