Grow your career at The Link Our team in the Placement Stabilization Unit works collaboratively with the Provincial Placement Resource Unit, Child and Family Services, Mobile Crisis Team as well as the Winnipeg Police Service to mitigate further breakdown of a youth’s (aged 9 - 17) placement. The goal of the Placement Stabilization Unit is to prevent placement breakdown and provide a safe space for youth to stabilize and allow time to repair their placement prior to reunification with family and, if required, be an alternative residence that will support the youth’s needs.

As a member of the Caring Connections-Placement Stabilization Unit, The Team Lead assists the Program Supervisor in both the daily operations and development of the program. This position provides an opportunity for training as a Program Supervisor and is also intended to provide coverage for the Program Supervisor in their absence. The Team Lead ensures all responsibilities towards the youth are carried out within a trauma and resiliency-informed framework, promoting a culturally proficient approach when working with youth and their families, ensuring client safety, choice and control are priorities of The Link, and providing behavioral management support and other community components of a 24-hour treatment plan based on The Link’s Therapeutic Model of Care, including establishing collaborative and trusting relationships.

Reporting to the Program Supervisor, Team Lead is responsible for implementing all aspects of the day-to-day functioning of the program.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:of the Team Lead include but are not limited to:
**As a member of the YCP Team**:

- Interact with young people and their family in a manner designed to help them to return to their placement or family safely;
- Develop and implement household routines including meal planning and preparation, working with youth to keep their rooms clean and organized and assisting with maintenance and cleanliness of the building and yard;
- Develop, manage, facilitate and direct all daily program activities, both cultural and clinical and ensure youth engage with My Bundle activities;
- Facilitating young people having regular contact, as permitted, with family, case worker and placement staff including providing supervised visitation with family members and caregivers;
- Working as part of the team, ensure consistency in the youth’s experiences and intervention plans as based on the placement and reunification goals and participate with the team in making informed culturally responsive decisions regarding therapeutic methods based on observations and interactions with the young people and their knowledge of the young person’s culture.

**As a Team Lead**:

- Provides vacation and other time off coverage for the Program Supervisor;
- Provides on-call coverage as required;
- Represents the Program Supervisor at meetings or in the community as required;
- Completes administrative duties, as assigned by the Program Supervisor. These duties may include but are not limited to:

- Scheduling, coordinating, and training YCP team members.
- Orienting new employees.
- Performs financial and purchasing responsibilities, such as replenishing program supplies.
- Coordinating the distribution of information.
- Participates in ongoing professional development to increase knowledge and skill level;
- Supports the program to reflect The Link and the organization’s policies and procedures, and program protocols;
- Represents the service, the program, and the organization in a professional manner.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATION**:

- 1-2 years of experience working with at-risk youth;
- Certificate or diploma in Child and Youth Care Worker or;
- A combination of education and experience may be considered;
- Willingness to obtain necessary training as per the organization’s training policy including Crisis De-escalation, NCI, Applied Suicide Intervention, Colonization Awareness, and Child Development;
- Demonstrated leadership ability;
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations;
- Ability to function in a demanding and stressful
