**Claims Advocate Representative - MGA Insurance Program**
**Location: Burlington Ontario**
**The Claims Advocate Representative is responsible for advocating on behalf of our insurance customers in claims situations where necessary, as well as managing data of our insured clients and setting up new claims within our system. The Claims Advocate Representative is responsible for monitoring the progress of claims, creating claims records/reports, and providing authority for the payment of claims and processing of cheques when applicable.**
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- **Monitor initial reserve, change or close reserve and file as required.**
- **Monitor and update system with required file notes and status update, follow up on and, review cheque status or cancellation and provide updates as required to management.**
- **Create or save documents in appropriate file (incoming or outgoing communication).**
- **Assess estimate request, update and closure request (multiline).**
- **Review and complete daily reports if required.**
- **Send notification to client and communicate with insurer and adjusters as required.**
- **Respond to internal or external inquiries**
- **Ensure broker partner is kept informed about the progress of the claim through regular contact with the adjustors.**
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education & Licensing**
- **Enrolled or completed a post-secondary, insurance related program.**
- **1-2 previous insurance adjusting experience**
- **CIP enrolled or willing to complete same**
- **Wiling to be licensed in multiple jurisdictions**
**Skills & Knowledge**
- **Ability to commute to the office located in Burlington, Ontario. (Hybrid
- set up)**
- **Strong organizational and analytical skills.**
- **Excellent verbal and written communication skills.**
- **Solid problem solving and decision-making ability.**
- **Computer proficiency.**
- **High energy, organized, self-starter**
- **Strong work ethic, goal oriented**
- **Collaborative team player**

**Experience**:
- commercial insurance claims: 1 year (preferred)
