The Implementation Specialist supports the region’s deployment of network equipment for both core network and access layer programs. This position requires a wide range understanding of current access layer platform (DOCIS, ROD/SDV/QPSK, etc) as well next generation deployments (RPHY/XGSPON). Core network element deployments of transport, routers, switches, servers and supporting headend infrastructure are also required. These activities need to be highly coordinated with multiple supporting provisioning teams. The specialist will be required to work in network locations and manage contracted resources to ensure program schedules are delivered and provide technical support.

**The Specialist responsibilities includes**:

- Work order management and execution
- Identification and management of platform (DOCSIS, ROD/SDV, etc) capacity planning impacts on headend locations
- Accountable to oversee headend infrastructure augmentation (BDFB, Cable Infrastructure, etc)
- Headend optimization planning and implementation
- On site surveys and project reviews with stakeholders for project implementation
- Tracking projects to ensure deliverables are on schedule and on budget
- Provide technical support for the implementation of access and core network deployments (Transport, IP Core, Spine & Leaf, etc)
- Reporting on major program status for access, core, transport & video programs
- Contracted vendor management
- Collaborating with headend and wireless operational teams on project execution
- Financial management of program deliverables
- Remain current with the latest company and industry technologies, policies and standards
- Beware and adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations, in accordance with legislation and related company policy

**Qualifications**:

- Practical headend or data center experience
- Knowledge of all HFC & telecommunications inside plant design and construction practices
- Understanding of all analog, digital and network transport technology and systems
- 5 years of HFC and telecommunications or related network industry experience.
- Post-secondary education in Electronics or Telecommunications or equivalent industry experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and the associated software.
- Familiar with standard computer hardware and interfaces.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Valid Canadian driver's license.
