**Introduction**

The Extraction Operations Manager is responsible for planning, overseeing and monitoring the daily operations in the Extraction Department. The Extraction department processes include decarboxylation, milling, crude extraction via supercritical CO2 extraction, hydrocarbon extraction and post-processing (including THCa isolation and production of diamonds, sauce, crumble, live resin, etc.). The Extraction Operations Manager role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Extraction (P.Eng. designated).

**Position Overview**:

- Monitor daily performance vs. production targets, and troubleshoot any production issues in real time
- Develop equipment and manpower schedules to meet production objectives
- Identify and drive improvements for process efficiency, employee safety and product quality
- Develop and maintain all Extraction Department SOPs and work processes
- Provide approvals, assessment and feedback for all production paperwork, production changes, new equipment, etc. for the Extraction Department
- Clearly communicate the objectives and vision of the organization on a micro and macro level
- Collaborate with all other business functions to achieve general goals of the organization
- Foster a team culture focused on employee safety, product quality, effective execution on goals, and continuous improvement

**Qualifications**:

- MSc./BSc. degree required in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical or Integrated Engineering or related science
- 5+ years experience in a laboratory and/or production environment, preferably in cannabis, pharmaceuticals, food, botanical extraction or related industry
- 2+ years experience in team management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated

- High attention to detail
- Commitment to safety and high-quality results
- Strong time management skills including ability to multitask and prioritize
- Experience in the cannabis industry is an asset
- Indiividuals with a Health Canada security clearance will be given preference
- Physically fit; standing and/or sitting will be required for long periods of time and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Required to pass a criminal background check
- Must be an open work permit holder or have permanent residency or be a Canadian Citizen.

**WORKING CONDITIONS (ON SITE)**:
This role is performed on site at our **production facility in Aylmer, Ontario **and Motif provides all required PPE and has continued manufacturing safety protocols: a well-fitted mask must be worn at all times while inside our production areas. Hours are Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm.
