Salvage Inventory Clerk

Overview:
As the Salvage Inventory Clerk, you are responsible for accurately entering inventory into the Salvage Management System (SMS) and ensuring that salvage disposal notifications comply with salvage and claims procedures. You will perform clerical duties of a semi-technical nature, in accordance with established policies, procedures and departmental policy.
**Responsibilities**:
- Control and maintain active inventory on a daily basis of both Winnipeg and rurally located salvageable units.
- Adhere to cyclical deadlines for documenting and processing inventory sales, auctions and tenders including, but not limited to:
- Winnipeg inventory for the in-person Physical Damage Centre (PDC) auction
- Rurally located inventory for rural tender distribution
- Bulk salvage sales located at PDC including low Actual Cash Value vehicles
- Commercial tenders
- Out-of-province tenders
- Corporate asset tendering and/or disposal
- Shredder tenders
- Enter inventory into the Salvage Management System (SMS) as notifications are received.
- Confirm information accuracy using CARS, IWS, IDMS and VTS systems. Takes corrective action when information is missing or incorrect, according to Salvage procedures.
- Select and publish pictures in SMS that best represent the vehicle or item.
- Assist in the process of finding, identifying and confirming vehicle location and information for key identification and towing purposes.
- Update vehicle information in the IWS system when necessary.
- Update information into internal data bases and SharePoint sites to track and support reduced cycle time and increased throughput.
- Follow the departmental salvage quotes procedures and provides total loss adjusters an accurate estimate of expected salvage sale revenue.
- Collaborate to resolve Salvage Management System issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years office experience including one year in a total loss or Physical Damage Claims Operations environment.
