**About the college**:
Queen’s College of Business, Technology & Public Safety, established in 1986, located in Mississauga, is collaborating with a community college in order to provide top quality program delivery to international students.
**Job description**
The incumbent will provide a range of co-op and employment services to prepare international students for employment, their co-op term, and post-graduate career success. Outreach and collaboration with employers will also be an important aspect of this position
**Major Responsibilities**:
- Researching, reviewing, approving, and declining positions that have been proposed for the Co-op semester
- Leaing mandatory meetings with eligible co-op students to provide guidance on the requirements of a Co-op position, their Co-op program, and their responsibilities regarding the work term
- Reviewing and developing new co-op and career resources to support students before, during, and after their active work term
- Facilitating and organizing (on-campus/off-campus): workshops, class seminars, industry guest speakers, hiring booths, career fairs, networking events, volunteer activities and individual counselling appointments
- Visiting students at their Co-op work location to ensure that they are in a safe location, and performing the duties that were agreed upon prior to the start of their position
- Instructing and grading students during their Co-op work term using LMS - Moodle, including regular assignments and tasks
- Maintaining student files with relevant Co-op position information, creating user-friendly databases for easy comparison, and preparing audit documentation.
- Demonstrating the value of a Co-op semester to students who have it as an optional addition to their college program
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- Completion of a post-secondary education in social services, employment/career counselling, or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Minimum of one-year related experience
- Strong computer and database skills including MS Office Suite, social media tools
- Strong organization with the ability to multi-task
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision and to take initiative to follow-up on students
- Time management skills, ability to manage tight timelines and changing priorities
- Effective communication skills, both spoken and written
- Detail-oriented, team-player with ability to collaborate with employers, departments and students
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of working effectively in a diverse environment
- Personal transportation to conduct site visits of Co-op students at work
**Additional Notes**:
- Travel outside the office is sometimes required
- Some evening and weekend work may be required
**Job Types**: Internship / Co-op, Full-time
