Derksen Plumbing and Heating (1984) Ltd is a family-owned and operated business which has provided exceptional plumbing and heating services to the City of Winnipeg for over 50 years.

We are looking to bring a Project Manager on board to assist with the day-to-day operations of our Commercial Department.

**SUMMARY OF POSITION**

Prepares tenders by retrieving and formatting required information. Purchases materials and completes other tasks in order to ensure profitability of jobs. Provides supervision to plumbers on special projects so as to ensure that their duties and responsibilities are carried out in an effective, systematic, and cost-effective manner.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** (other duties may be assigned)
- Provides project management services.
- Creates Project schedules and works with site supervisors to track and maintain them
- Attends site required meetings and takes notes
- Deals with customer relations related to a project.
- Reviews project shop drawings prior to submission
- Works with the Procurement team to assist them in putting together accurate bids.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Responsibilities include managing site supervisors and subtrades, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**:
Completion of Trade or Technical School/Mechanical Engineering; plus more than 3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced plumbing and mechanical knowledge is also required.
