**Purpose**:
The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies (LA&PS) is the largest Faculty at York University with over 23,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and almost 100 programs delivered through 24 Departments, Schools and Colleges, plus the IBM Markham Learning Site. Through innovative course design, diverse experiential education and learning opportunities, and a supportive community environment, our students receive the education they need to create big ideas that have an impact on the world.Reporting to the Associate Director, Experiential Education and under the general direction of the Associate Dean, Programs, the Internship Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the LA&PS Internship program. A key focus for the role is to maintain, develop and grow the LA&PS Internship Program. The Internship Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development of work-integrated learning opportunities through university-community partnerships that are mutually beneficial, and foster student engagement by facilitating experiences that link theory to practice within areas of study in LA&PS. With service excellence mindset, the Internship Program Coordinator will coordinate programming for students, faculty and community partners to enhance experiential education opportunities within LA&PS. The Internship Program Coordinator will support student success initiatives, collaborate with Experiential Education colleagues to align programming with career readiness and employer outreach activities, The Internship Program Coordinator will also support the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and York University, and contribute to a positive, supportive, and student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement. embraces diversity and fosters inclusion.

**Education**:
University degree in a relevant field or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

**Experience**:
Minimum (2) years of recent relevant experience in experiential education, career centre, co-op or other job placement settings. This role requires experience coordinating effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders (including community, employers, alumni, students, staff, and faculty), and experience coordinating employment and/or work-integrated learning opportunities for clients/students. Exposure to customized relationship management databases is preferred.

**Skills**:
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Strong presentation and public speaking skills
Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills to cope with multiple priorities and events occurring within short and overlapping time periods.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to create reports and submit content for communication materials.
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
Broad knowledge of trends in employer hiring practices. General understanding of student and career development theories and trends, critical issues, and best practices in experiential education.
Demonstrated commitment to working as a team player.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential material.
Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse university student population and have a genuine desire to meet the needs of students.
Demonstrated record of professionalism, good attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
Self-motivated learner and demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development.
Demonstrated initiative and flexibility.
