Toronto, Canada RiskThinking.AI Full time

Note to applicants: This role is based out of our Toronto office with an expectation of in-person presence 3x/week. Only those applicants based in Toronto or willing to immediately relocate to Toronto will be considered._

**Introduction**

Riskthinking.AI (RTai) is an innovative climate risk start-up located in Toronto, Canada. Founded by financial risk pioneer Dr. Ron Dembo, our mission is to reprice financial markets with the reality of climate change. Our forward-looking, purely probabilistic methodology for assessing climate risk is truly revolutionary in the space, enabling customers to uncover blind spots that other providers' solutions may miss.

We've recently launched our VELO® Product into market, and also offer Data and Enterprise engagement models. Backed by Bloomberg L.P. and with a co-developed product now available on the Bloomberg terminal, industry analysts and influencers have begun to take notice.

The market for climate risk analytics is projected to grow to $4 Billion in 2027. With the increasing frequency and impact of severe weather events, as well as impending disclosure regulations, the market is hungry for solutions. Yet, solutions to date have been overly simplistic and cannot be relied upon to truly inform business strategy and investment decisions, creating a gap in the market that we feel RTai is uniquely positioned to fill.

**Position Overview**

We have an immediate need for a proven market developer and sales leader to capitalize on this market opportunity. As we commercialize in earnest and move from 'start-up' to 'scale-up', we need to mobilize and accelerate our small but mighty sales force to increase our pipeline and reduce time to sale.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Developing a deep understanding of the company's offerings, business model, products, data, and methodology, and value proposition.
- Working with leadership to develop and implement an optimal strategy to introduce the firm's capabilities and offerings into target markets.
- Identifying, directing and implementing prioritized sales strategies, channels, and partnerships which have the largest potential for revenue growth.
- Leading and directly supporting the full range of go-to-market activities surrounding the company's commercial expansion efforts, including providing leadership and direction to the sales team to achieve sales targets.
- Tracking and reporting on sales team performance and progress towards targets. Proactively communicating blockers and collaborating with leadership on solutions to eliminate them.
- Generating market interest and conducting cold outreach for the company's offerings, providing detailed presentations on the firm's offerings and use cases.
- Conducting product demonstrations, and orchestrating all follow-on actions required of the Company and its prospects.
- Scoping and negotiating commercial engagements to bring deals to successful closure.
- Maintaining a pipeline of active opportunities and identifying the actions required to progress and close commercial deals.
- Working with Product team to align expectations on deal terms and implementation requirements, as well as overseeing the successful transition from deal closure to project commencement.
- Identifying opportunities for upsell and cross-sell with current clients, to expand the company's footprint with our existing customer base.
- Working with company leadership to identify any adjustments required to the firm's product offerings that reflect feedback received from the market, competitive alternatives, and other supply and demand dynamics emerging in the market.

**Requirements**:

- Previous working experience as a sales executive for a minimum of 15 years.
- Experience working in a start-up environment, data-as-a-service and/or software-as-a-service.
- Experience in any or all of enterprise risk, financial services, and/or the climate and ESG market.
- Experience selling data platforms
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities; pivoting quickly to capitalize on opportunities.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- A 'build' mentality and demonstrated capacity to bring structure to unstructured situations, identify and shape emergent opportunities, and align Company engagement to secure commercial deals.
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company's success
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.

**Benefits**
- Work From Home - Flexible hours
- Paid Time Off Benefits (4 weeks per year)
- Training & Development
