**A day in the life**:

- Complete bulk material handling designs and calculations for conveyors, conveyor systems, chutes, transfer systems, and other equipment within the Mining, Ag-Industrial, and Food and Beverage industries.
- Lead the selection of mechanical equipment components, including the selection of drives, bearings, pulleys, shafts, scales, and dust collection and suppression system, layouts and integration into total project systems required for bulk material handling systems.
- Make technical decisions, take responsibility on technical matters and answer technical questions during the construction and commissioning of bulk material handling systems.
- Communicate with vendors to acquire specifications info, pricing, and technological advancement in the field of bulk material handlings design.
- Design management with input from other senior managers on technical decisions.
- Coordinate with various disciplines required for project implementation.
- Write and review technical reports and construction specifications.
- Review and take responsibility for junior designers' and engineers’ work.
- Cost estimating review and assistance.
- Travel to various client sites, attend project meetings and conduct field reviews.
- Other duties as assigned.

**What you'll bring to WSP...**:

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on bulk material handling systems from an accredited university and be within good standing with APEGS or PEO as a licensed Professional Engineer.
- Eight to Fifteen years of relevant experience in the design of bulk material handling systems.
- Skilled in the preparation of bulk material handling and heavy plant equipment arrangement drawings using Computer Aided Drafting and Design software.
- Proficient in common material handling software tools (e.g. Smart Plant 3D).
- Be fluent in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills with working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs.
- Ability to work and complete tasks independently, make decisions and take responsibility on technical matters.
- Must possess a team player attitude and be able to work in project team environment.
