**Overview**
Galcon Precast Ltd. is seeking a diligent and meticulous person to join our team as a Quality Assurance Specialist, at our Precast concrete manufacturing facility in Duncan BC, Vancouver Island.
Valid ACI, CCIL, or other concrete technician certification is preferred. Galcon will be happy to help a versatile and motivated employee refine their skills and acquire the certifications necessary to grow into this important role.
This opportunity carries an engaging combination of technical and craftsmanship-based functionality. The role is not intensely physical (our equipment does the heavy lifting), but physical fitness and full mobility is required for effective performance.

Success within this role requires exemplary attendance, effective performance with mínimal supervision, and proactive coordination and cooperation with fellow team members.
Galcon Precast Ltd. is in the process of constructing a brand new, significantly expanded, manufacturing facility in the CVRD. A proficient Quality Assurance Specialist will be well positioned for advancement as our operations expand.
**Responsibilities**
- Effectively plan and execute duties and assignments in symmetry with production requirements
- Accurately interpret drawings and specifications and assure dimensional, reinforcing, material and manufacturing conformity with design requirements
- Sample/test/verify raw materials, plastic concrete and hardened samples, in strict accordance with specified standards
- Review documentation, designs and product certificates, to confirm compliance with quality management requirements
- Collect, organize and maintain meticulous records, as required to maintain certifications
- Assess and assure hardened concrete elements satisfy all manufacturing requirements
- Identify non-conforming or unfinished products, resolve applicable remedial requirements, repair, finish, or segregate components as required
- Label products with required markings logos and designations, assist in inventory allocation, and finalize product readiness for yarding/staging
- Support team in confirming deliveries are complete and appropriately loaded
**Experience, Qualifications & Requirements**
- Experience in a QA/QC role is preferred
- Post-Secondary education in related field is preferred - a High School Diploma is required
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Proactive, self-starting and thorough personality
- Ability to constructively affect influence within a team setting
- Ability to commute dependably/ willingness to relocate prior to hiring
- Proficient English language skills, verbal and written

**Job Type**

$25 - 35/hr + Overtime (1.5x base rate), starting rate based on education & experience
