*TERM*Permanent Full-Time*THE ROLE...*The Production Manager for Burlington facility will lead in all areas of production (the work, the people, and the infrastructure) through effective planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing processes.The Production Manager is expected to lead in the planning, evaluation and efficiency of the production process, and to ensure that fabrication proceeds on time and on budget, while maintaining the highest level of quality. Ensures all the necessary resources for successful completion of projects are identified early to avoid delays and less that "Tier One" quality. Constant analyses of the fabrication processes and procedures will be necessary to maintain the highest level of output.* Ensure that all products are produced on time and of premium quality;* Develop and manage concise production schedules in collaboration with the production planning department and Project Managers.* Manage all human and non-human resources production resources, equipment, and facilities;* Attend standing production meetings and other production planning meetings as required;* Provide appropriate, comprehensive, and accurate reports to Project Managers and Senior Management as required;* Be a partner to designers, fabrication team, and other team members by nurturing and furthering the collaborative environment demanded by custom fabrication, creatively trouble shooting and problem solving unforeseen issues that routinely arise in custom fabrication.The Production Manager is expected to set the tone and pace of the environment by promoting the cooperation and commitment of all production personnel, allowing all members of the group to work cooperatively and productively through leadership, mentorship, training, and development.*TEAM MANAGEMENT** Identify developmental and training needs of department staff and the appropriate resources required for training;* Implement effective employee cross-training programs;* Regularly assess performance and address performance issues in a timely manner and participate in progressive disciplinary action as required;* Partner with HR and JHSC to ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) as well as with ASTOUND's Health and Safety Policies;* Promptly report incidents, accidents and/or safety concerns to the JHSC and executive management.* Maintain open and tight communication with all Senior Management, Department Managers, and Project Managers* Approve drawings for Production*SCHEDULING AND CAPACITY PLANNNING** Prepare and plan production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of client orders, Project Management Milestones, and Install dates* Ensure production planning and scheduling activities are accomplished in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner* Maintain daily communication with relevant department members to ensure production needs are being addressed and schedules are being met* Monitor production results and modify schedules as required* Review projects and manage the production calendar for capacity planning and material requirements* Work closely with managers during the estimate phase of a project to ensure all estimated production hours are accurate and feasible* Accountable for production hours and ensuring managers of each department are accountable for hours estimated* Proactively monitor hours to forecast if project timelines will be met on time and on budget* Monitor and forecast capacity and produce reports* Proactively hire or layoff staff according to capacity, schedule overtime or nightshifts and recommend outsourcing when required.*HOURS AND ATTENDENCE** Approve timesheets for direct reports* Ensures department staff follow ASTOUND time and attendance procedures;* Ensure department time sheets are properly managed and completed in a timely manner by a
