Champlain College Lennoxville is seeking the services of a SOCIAL WORK TECHNICIAN to work on a temporary, full-time basis (35 hours/week), in the Students Services department, beginning as soon as possible until May 29th, 2026.

FUNCTIONS
The main and customary role of the person in this job class is to carry out tasks related to prevention and individual or group assistance for students with personal difficulties.

Their role is to deal with the realities experienced by students presenting at-risk behaviours, so that together they can find ways of gaining more control over what happens to them.
The individual in this job class intervenes on two levels: prevention and both individual and team services.
Reporting to the Dean of Student Services, the main tasks of the social work technician are to:
1. Identify and meet with students experiencing problematic situations of a personal nature, including (but not limited to) interpersonal relationships, behavioral disorders, substance abuse, addictions, academic difficulties, mental health, learning disabilities and sexual abuse. Refers to external resources as needed;
2. Ensure a regular presence and create meaningful connections with the student population;
3. Intervene with individuals or groups to resolve difficulties, prevent potential problems or facilitate the adaptation of individuals or groups to their surroundings;
4. Refers students to appropriate internal or external resources;
5. May implement intervention plans;
6. Prepares and maintains student files, compiling notes of observations and interventions;
7. Intervenes, defuses and follows up in the event of a crisis;
8. Collaborates with internal and external partners affected by crises;
11. Supports the initiatives of the Standing Committee on Student Mental Health by collaborating in the implementation of its action plan.
12. Attends, prepares and actively participates in team meetings;
13. Works as part of a team, developing and carrying out activities;
14. Participates in drawing up the annual action plan, following up and reviewing it at the end of the year;
15. Performs all related tasks (compiles statistics, meets with partners and residents, attends training courses, etc.).

This is a specific project ending at the latest on May 29th, 2026.
Please note that a temporary lay-off period will be observed from May 30th, 2025, to August 1st, 2025.

**Requirements**:

- QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Must possess a diploma of college studies in Social work or in an appropriate speciality or a diploma or an attestation of studies, which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.

Other
Member of the order des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec (OTSTCFQ) will be considered an asset.

Must be able to communicate proficiently in English, orally and written.
Must have strong French comprehension skills.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

- Must have strong organizational skills
- Must be a team player and student centered
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge in the field of mental health.

**Work Schedule**: 35 hours a week

**Salary Scale**: $27.71 à $39.88 per hour
