**Job description**: Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Head of Extrusion & Coextrusion Department is responsible for the management and supervision of production activities in the Extrusion and Coextrusion Department. They will ensure the effective management of the team to guarantee the manufacturing of good quality products in accordance with standards, technical specifications, and customer requirements in an environment where health and safety are priorities. Acting as a vector of communication and mobilization to help the development of staff.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate in effective production planning and make sure to have the necessary raw materials on hand to proceed with production.
- Effectively monitor current production to achieve operational targets within the required time frame.
- Collaborate with the quality department to investigate quality issues and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the quality department to ensure compliance with processes, regulations and requirements related to BRCGS, ISO, OCS.
- Participate in and facilitate research and development trials (R&D).
- Work with quality assurance and maintenance to implement product and process changes.
- Support proactive planning of equipment maintenance and repair with the maintenance department.
- Ensure close and effective collaboration with the supply chain and conversion department.
- Collaborate in the installation and startup of new equipment.
- Contribute to the management and monitoring of inventory.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection process of new employees.
- Organize and follow-up the training and effective integration of new employees.
- Organize and oversee the work of the production team. Manage the schedule, attendance, overtime, and punches of employees.
- Evaluate the performance of each member of the production team, provide positive reinforcement or address discrepancies as appropriate by carrying out rigorous monitoring to ensure that production objectives are achieved.
- Mobilize production team around common objectives to ensure superior performance and a high retention rate.
- Ensures that team members comply with health and safety measures by maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring that safe work methods are applied and always followed.
- Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of the department.
- Work effectively with all departments to ensure that company goals and initiatives are achieved.

**Requirements**:

- Training in production management or relevant supervisor experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in management or employee supervision in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in plastic extrusion would be an important asset
- Knowledge of an ERP system would be an asset
- Knowledge of Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrate leadership and have strong interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organization skills including the ability to prioritize.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Great sense of autonomy and initiative.
- Bilingual French / English.
