Economic Development, Investment, Trade and Natural Resources is seeking qualified individuals to fill the Leader, Indigenous Resource Policy position with the Consultation & Reconciliation branch.
The Indigenous Resource Policy Unit is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating multifaceted programs and initiatives that encourage Indigenous participation in sustainable resource management.

Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be able to travel several times per year including overnight travel
Qualifications:
**Essential**:
- Post-secondary degree in Indigenous studies, environmental sciences, public administration, or a related field. A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Extensive experience developing, implementing, and evaluating policies and programs.
- Extensive experience reviewing, assessing, and interpreting legislation/statutes/regulations and impacts to program/policy design.
- Experience supervising or leading a team, including the ability to foster team engagement through coaching, guiding work and developing employees.
- Advanced skills and experience in project management, change management, and other strategic and long-term planning principles and practices.
- Excellent political acumen to navigate sensitive and confidential issues with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to write politically sensitive and confidential materials for senior leaders.
- Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization and to communicate to external partners.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**Desired**:
- Experience building relationships with Indigenous communities and implementing the principles of reconciliation.
