**Job Description**:
Contribute to the implementation of the environmental strategy and responsible for coordinating the environmental program related to Transat's physical locations, including but not limited to legal compliance, building energy efficiency, hazardous and residual materials management and employee training and awareness.

**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for the **environmental compliance** (municipal, provincial, federal) of Transat's physical locations.
- Responsible for regulatory monitoring, environmental authorizations and requirements, and communications and declarations to government authorities; including but not limited to environmental spills, refrigerant leaks, extended producer responsibility and energy consumption.
- Identify, evaluate, and reduce environmental risks of operations related to Transat sites.
- Ensure the follow up in the event of any environmental incidents and ensuring the implementation of corrective actions.
- Responsible for the **continuous improvement** of the environmental performance of Transat sites:

- Optimize and maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS) and conduct applicable internal/external audits. Identify best practices and opportunities for improvement.
- Organize environmental steering committees and assist in the implementation of environmental policies and the development of environmental performance objectives for sites.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of environmental procedures.
- Participate in the development of environmental training programs and provide training.
- Ensure staff awareness of environmental issues.
- Improve the **management of residual materials** in facilities across Transat.
- Ensure compliance with hazardous waste management requirements.
- Monitor and improve the performance of recycling, recovery, and reclamation programs.
- Act as internal expert on requirements and best practices related to cabin waste management.
- Administrative responsibilities
- Compile and analyze all data related to environmental programs for land-based operations (energy consumption, residual materials, etc.).
- Budgetary follow-up and responsible for the accounts payable and calls for tenders of the environmental department.
- Filing and archiving environmental documentation.

**Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate degree in science, environmental studies, sustainable development, communications, management or another equivalent program.
- An undergraduate degree, in environmental science/studies or sustainable development.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Experience in training environmental principles and concepts.
- Experience with environmental management systems and certifications.
- Experience in auditing.
- Superior project management experience and skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work with multiple departments.
- Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and complex environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Access, Excel, Word).
- An understanding of the aerospace industry is preferred.
- Bilingual.
