We are looking for a **Labourer**to join our passionate, industry-leading team. If you have a passion for construction and the homebuilding industry, then Excel Homes is the perfect fit for you **The Role** A **Labourer**works alongside the Site Assistant and Superintendent to assist with general labour tasks including lifting, digging, and general job site clean-up. **The Responsibilities** - Loading and unloading construction materials, and moving them to work areas - Installing all fencing in a safe manner for protection of public and property - Ensuring the cleanliness and ongoing maintenance of job sites - Removing/sweeping rubble, garbage, and other debris at construction sites. - Preparing sites to be ready for all incoming trades - Digging, lifting, and moving equipment and material as required - Shoveling of snow on job site, when needed - Performing paint sweeps - Locking all houses at the end of the day in the community - Ensuring a safe working environment by complying with Excel Homes safety programs and all applicable safety legislation. - Other duties as assigned **Now** **Let’s Talk About You** - 1 - 2 years related industry experience preferred - Safety first mentality - Knowledge of a variety of tools - A problem solver who brings a "can do" attitude to work each day - Adaptable and flexible personality, able to react to change in a positive way - Has an understanding of the overall construction process and a drive to develop further skills in the industry. - General understanding of basic hand tools and the ability to use them. **Our ‘Must Haves’** - High school diploma or GED is preferred. - Must have a valid Alberta driver’s license with clean driving record - Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 lbs. frequently - Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions **Bonus Points** - Valid first aid certification - Safety training courses - PHBI courses Excel Homes is a Mercer Certified Best Employer and an established new home builder, building in Calgary and the surrounding community.
