**About the role**

Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, the Category Manager is responsible for delivering category management principles and supply chain solutions to significant operational spend categories, commodities, and services which improve performance and reduce cost and business risk, as well as providing operational support and measurable financial deliverables through supplier and spend management processes and agreements (SCM). The incumbent delivers category management principles, supply chain functionality, efficiency, profitability, and supplier accountability to Project Delivery teams and to Graham as a whole. Key functions include improving performance, reducing cost and business risk significantly, delivering a better value supply chain by embedding category strategies into Graham projects, and focusing on the needs of internal and external clients by supporting Operational Procurement through effective category management. The incumbent provides financial savings and performance improvements through a more strategic, company-wide perspective to Supply Chain Management, and more integrated approach with internal clients and external suppliers.

**As a **Category Manager **at Graham you will**:

- Support the Senior Category Manager in delivering their objectives.
- Encourage continuous development and growth of Category Management activity within Graham to support project delivery and financial return.
- Represent the Supply Chain AoE to the business unit and advocate the Supply Chain strategy.
- Leverage supply opportunities to deliver the major tactical category and commodity supply agreements, which support business unit needs.
- Create and promote strategic improvements within Graham in order to enhance the performance of the whole supply chain.
- Lead and mentor change programs, ensuring key stakeholders are bought into the process.
- Participate in strategic projects as necessary.
- Ensure that the supply chain is safe, sustainable, and appropriately accredited.
- Initiate and support performance management and supplier development programs, provide metrics and trend analysis, and guide corrective action plans.
- Drive and deliver targeted savings and performance improvement benefits and are accountable for the cost reduction and performance of the total Category Management performance.
- Assess, value, and advise on the commercial risk associated with supply agreements.
- Act as mediator in potential disputes within the supply chain.
- Provide input and compile the Project Procurement Strategy and Schedule.
- Reduce risk due to change management processes for Supply Chain initiatives.
- Lead and support subcontract and major supply pre-let meetings and negotiations.
- Achieve targets set by the VP Supply Chain.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or another technical field.
- SCMA / CIPS qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a supply chain role or related.
- Strong understanding of all supply chain principles, procedures, and methods.
- Understanding of supplier performance improvement tools and techniques.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Knowledge of leadership techniques and staff development methods.
- Relevant product and subcontract market knowledge is an asset.
- Strong understanding of tender and contract procurement practices and processes.
- Knowledge of relevant forms of contract and strong commercial awareness.
- Ability to recognize commercial risk associated with supply agreements.
- Drive to advocate for effective supply chain methodologies and benefits.
- Strong analytical skills and high competency in supplier selection and evaluation.
- High competency in value engineering and performance improvement.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in leading and managing teams.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Strong contractual and commercial competence.
- Ability to operate under pressure and to meet tight and demanding deadlines.
- Ability to influence and deliver change management processes and communicate strategic direction both internally and externally.
