- Conduct the Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) for projects and initiatives at The City in compliance with City policies and the FOIP Act.
- Determine when a project, initiative or process change requires a full PIA or privacy consultation.
- Support the business area in completing the PIA process from intake to implementation of risk mitigation.
- Assist business areas in addressing their concerns on the protection of personal information through the PIA process.
- Lead and advise project teams to implement and track risk mitigation activities.
- Conduct research on technology or vendor's privacy policy and practices in order to identify privacy risks and provide mitigations.
- Conduct follow-up, monitoring and reconciliation activities to ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance and direction to business units or employees in protecting personal information during collection, use, disclosure, storage and/or destruction.
- Identify the source(s) of the information being disclosed and work with information custodians to map the internal processes for approving and preparing the information for public release.
- Prepare Assess Impact Assessment (AIA) documentation including an information flow diagram, an access risk mitigation table, and if applicable, a privacy risks and mitigation plan, to ensure the information that is going to be proactively disclosed is not more than what is intended to be disclosed, and to ensure that the proactive disclosure promotes openness and transparency through Open Government initiatives.
- Assist with development of awareness and training materials.
- Create and deliver training to business areas regarding privacy processes and procedures, best practices and compliance.
- Review, report, and make recommendations on issues, trends, mitigation techniques, and legal challenges by monitoring government FOIP-related websites for precedents and new policies; procedures and updates to current practices; pending legislation; best practices.
- Analyze information and statistical data and prepare reports for management to assist in the delivery of privacy programs and initiatives.

**Qualifications**
- A degree in Arts, Business, Information Management, Public Policy, or a related field and at least 3 years of direct work experience in privacy legislation.
- Sound knowledge of freedom of information and protection of privacy principles, with demonstrated experience researching, analyzing and interpreting legislation.
- Professional designation or certification such as the following would be an asset:

- Certified Information Privacy Professional for Canada/CIPP/C,
- Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), or
- Certificate in Information Access and Protection of Privacy, or related field.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as cross-functionally with other teams and to influence and build effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the Corporation.
- You have strong communication skills and demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
