JOB SUMMARY
Under the authority of the Director, Public and Patient Engagement and the Coordinator of the Clinical Research Support Service, the research agent participates in the implementation of the personalized support service in clinical research as main resource for users.
The research agent must present an empathetic approach to discussing, informing and supporting patients and relatives in the process of participating in a clinical trial; and possess the knowledge of medical terminology required to support physicians and healthcare professionals in their search for a potential clinical trial for their patients.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Our client is a non-profit organization that has been mandated by the Government of Quebec to increase the number of clinical trials carried out by companies in Quebec, and to facilitate collaboration between the various players in the life sciences sector. life and to accelerate the development of innovative treatments.
Their mission is to optimize the clinical research environment in Quebec in order to maximize private investment and accelerate the development of innovative care for patients. Their vision is to create an environment that allows all patients easy access to clinical trials in Quebec.
The organization is supported by a large network of partners, including healthcare institutions, pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations and patient associations (the “Network”).
Our client develops and implements a public service of personalized support in clinical research. This service consists of offering patients, caregivers, doctors and health professionals direct and personalized support to identify clinical trials that correspond to their needs, then to synthesize this research to support discussions between the doctor and his patient. regarding participation in a clinical trial.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Listen, discuss, inform and support patients, caregivers, doctors and other healthcare professionals in their research to identify one or more clinical trials for specific medical conditions.
- Participate in the implementation of the personalized support service in clinical research;
- Support the Coordinator in the implementation of the service and the implementation of tools in accordance with the plan, budgets and deadlines;
- Follow up with the patient, caregiver, physician or other healthcare professionals to verify whether the patient was able to participate in the clinical trial, and/or pursue the steps to identify a clinical trial if necessary applicable;
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the service;
- Participate in the development of educational content relating to the support service presented on the organization's website and social networks;
- Contribute to the sound management of the data entered in compliance with confidentiality policies and respect for privacy;
- Perform all other tasks related to this position.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- College diploma in a field related to the job combined with relevant experience in the field of life sciences. And or:
- Bachelor's degree (BAC) in biology, biological sciences, biomedical sciences, nursing sciences, or any other discipline relevant to the position;
- A good knowledge of the environment and the players in the health network is essential;
- Experience in a pharmaceutical company, healthcare facility, ORC or research center - an asset
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingualism, with an excellent command of English and French;
- Empathy, understanding and diplomacy in the face of sometimes difficult situations.
- Great ability to popularize and strong ability to communicate with a varied clientele including patients, caregivers, clinicians, researchers and other health professionals.
