Headquartered in Burnaby, BC, the Neil Squire Society is presently hiring for their youth employment program and seeking a **Case Manager/Employment Specialist.**

Under the direction of the Manager, Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, the Case Manager/Employment Specialist is responsible for conducting ongoing participant recruitment and intake assessments, completing a needs assessment and developing action plans to prepare program participants for employment in the manufacturing sector, liaising with employers, marketing participants for job development and working closely with the Manager to ensure the project milestones are achieved. The Case Manager/Employment Specialist is also responsible for providing group and individualized employment services and skills training to prepare clients for work experience placement and future employment within the manufacturing sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Screen clients for eligibility/suitability for program using various assessment tools.
- Conduct intake assessments and initial needs determination with clients seeking employment in the manufacturing sector.
- Develop realistic and appropriate action plans for participants, review, and revise action plan as required.
- Enter program activities notes into appropriate database; maintain up-to-date employer and client databases.
- Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly reporting on client progress in accordance with program procedures for submission to funders, as needed.
- Ensure all statistics, case notes, reports, consents, and other information pertaining to client documentation are completed on time and maintained in adherence to policies and procedures.
- Meet and network with various service providers to promote the program to increase recruitment and develop a network of resources for supported referrals.
- Facilitate and maintain positive relationships with community partners and organizations.
- Deliver in person and virtual group and individual employment services and skills training with youth participants. Provide support tailored to the client’s career plans.
- Utilize existing curriculum and resources focused on soft skills, job readiness, and foundational hard skills relevant to the manufacturing sector.
- Prepare participants for employment marketing and provide job search assistance and marketing support.
- Develop opportunities for participants to meet employers in the manufacturing sector to enhance knowledge and inform career decision making.
- Liaise with subcontractors and employers to identify and place participants in work experience placements.
- Negotiate and prepare wage subsidy agreements, employer documents and other required documents as needed.
- Network with employers, identify appropriate job leads, and assist clients in accessing the hidden job market. Support the transition into employment and liaise with employers to generate employment leads.
- Attend local tradeshows/conferences, networking opportunities other community events, and training.
- Market wage subsidy and non-wage subsidy employer
- Provide ongoing follow-up support to clients and employers, as needed.
- May be required to work with clients on job sites where coaching is required and monitor mentorships as needed.

- Maintain client files by collecting required documents and assignments from clients and wage subsidy employers throughout the program. Ensure the client’s information and progress is always up to date in the program database and the file content is in place for audit purposes.
- Attend regular team meetings to discuss curriculum and resource content, program delivery and client progress.
- Ensure all reporting is completed on time and maintained in adherence to policies and procedures, including preparing detailed reporting for submission to funders.
- Other additional duties will be assigned as needed.

Education, Training, Experience, and Other Requirements:

- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma in Social Sciences or a related field and/or CDP Certificate OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is asset.
- Previous experience working in employment programs and/or working with people with disabilities and other barriers to employment is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of the manufacturing sector and terminology is an asset, but not required.
- Willing to undergo a Criminal Record Check is a requirement.
- Ability to work with clients with disabilities utilizing a results-oriented focus combined with patience.
