Job DescriptionReporting to the Vice President of Housing and Violence Prevention, the Manager, Transition Houses oversees three second stage transition houses, two outreach programs for women who have experienced intimate partner violence, two PEACE programs for children and youth who have witnessed and/or experienced abuse, and the YWCA NESS Fund.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Supervising 10 regular staff members and additional casual staff
- Working with Human Resources staff to ensure effective, inclusive hiring practices
- Providing new staff with an orientation including the Housing and Violence Prevention Department’s polices, procedures and guidelines
- Providing staff with ongoing feedback at bi-weekly one to one meetings, and participating in annual performance evaluations
- Facilitating monthly team meetings
- Ensuring that staff safety and wellness are prioritized
- Managing timesheets and time off requests
- Fostering Relationships:

- Working collaboratively with YWCA Property Management, YWCA Community Development Coordinators, the YWCA Legal Educator, YWCA Fund Development and YWCA Marketing and Communications;
- Representing the YWCA on external committees and at conferences;
- Public speaking on issues related to intimate partner violence.
- Creating and monitoring program budgets
- Compiling and submitting accurate statistics to funders and partners
- Ensuring appropriate safety, cleanliness and comfort are maintained at second stage transition houses
- Responding to crisis situations
- Other duties as required

**What you’ll need**:

- A diploma or degree in a related field and/or 2 years supervisory experience
- Experience working with women and non-binary people who have experienced intimate partner violence
- A feminist understanding of the root causes of violence by intimate partners
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Trauma-informed
- Conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
- An understanding of the criminal and family justice systems as they pertain to intimate partner violence
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook
- Experience using SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Zoom, Relias Training, ADP Workforce Now and/or SafetyLine an asset.
- A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.
