As a Sustainability Lead located in Western Canada, you will report to the EHS Compliance Business Group Lead and support project execution, client development, and team development associated with GHD’s Sustainability Service Line. You will be supported in these areas from the EHS Compliance Business Group, our Leadership Team in Western Canada, and individuals involved in a number of strategic initiatives at GHD including the Sustainability Service Line, our Advisory business group, our Digital business group, and our Futures programs: Energy, Water, and Communities. Focus clients/sectors may include: Private, Municipal, Water and Transportation markets in the USA and Canada. You will closely cooperate with others within GHD enterprise including Advisory Business Activity Leaders, and the broader GHD business including Market Leaders and Regional Technical Leaders.
In this capacity, you will help to grow and delivery GHD's core consulting services related to sustainability roadmap development, emission reduction and decarbonization pathway development to foster sustainable transitions of our clients' businesses. The focus may be on several key areas: energy transition and decarbonization strategic planning and roadmaps, whole-of-supply chain energy profile analysis and benchmarking, translating decarbonization to an organization's cost structure and risk profile & leading organizational change management. With the support of the EHS Compliance Business Group Lead, a growth plan will be developed that builds upon GHD’s core, digital, and advisory expertise and includes performance KPIs that may include client interactions, opportunity pipeline health, new bookings, and team growth.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Supporting a Western Canada and North America focused strategy to engage and deliver sustainability, decarbonization and energy transition services for existing and potential clients
- Leverage network to assist in business development opportunities
- Provide project leadership to guide successful consulting engagements for the broader GHD business, working closely with GHD's ESG and Commercial Teams, Sustainability Service Line, and other Future Energy leaders.
- Support Bidding, Winning and Leading projects to assist clients in the design, implementation and optimization of their organizational response to the challenges and opportunities of climate change, carbon management and emission reduction. These engagements could include:
- Providing technical input and support the development of tenders/bids or proactive client proposals.
- Supporting strategy on decarbonization, net zero and energy transition, energy and carbon reporting and analytics
- Developing greater understanding and improvement in climate-related disclosure requirements
- Decarbonization pathway analysis including facility and asset evaluation and developing carbon abatement curves
- Actively contribute to GHD’s Global Sustainability Service Line and Future Energy initiative, helping to shape the strategy, align regional and global business goals, and accelerate growth
- Actively participate in professional and/or industrial organizations to promote the GHD brand
GHD will provide equipment that will allow you to work remotely from Victoria, British Columbia. Occasionally, project or client drivers may require travel to Vancouver or other locations within Western Canada.
