Fairleigh Dickinson University is the largest private (not-for-profit) university in the state of New Jersey (USA) with approximately 12,000 graduate and undergraduate students and more than 100 degree programs ranging from the Associate of Arts (A.A.) to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). **-7785 Distributed Database Systems**
Course Description:
This course introduces the theory of distributed databases and comparison to centralized databases. Topics include location transparence, locking, deadlock, data sharing and timestamping. A project to implement a small, distributed database system is of prime importance to the course.
Required Qualifications:
1. Must be eligible to work in Canada.
2. Must hold a master’s degree or a PhD degree in one of the following fields of study: Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
3. Having a North American teaching experience or work experience in the cyber security area is preferred.
4. Having an Industry certification like CompTIA Security+ is a plus.
