**Deliver excellence - **provide a personal, accurate, professional, and courteous service and resolution to our customers.**What you’ll be working on**Set up and input new claims (weekly indemnity, long-term disability, life waiver, life)
- Gather information to determine the type of claim (express vs non-express), and provide accurate initial requirements to the advisor/beneficiary.
- Potential to take inbound claims calls in order to complete the Claims Intake form
- Assign claims to team members with consideration given to workload, workflow and complexity criteria
- Provide ongoing and timely communication with our customers based on department protocols; provide claim status updates, request information and address general enquiries
- Participate in team collaboration to ensure optimal workflow and adherence to client service levels
- Coordinate workflow for team, utilize caseload management reports and route documentation/mail and enquiries to other teams as necessary
- Generate cheques as well as letters to advisors/beneficiaries
- Prepare memos and correspondence as requested by team members
- **What we’re looking for you to have**:
- Accounting Experience
- Knowledge of Empire Life systems (Ingenium, eCapsil, Onbase)
- Knowledge of relevant provincial legislation and legal requirements
- Insurance related courses are an asset
- Work experience in claim management is an asset, however, not required
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database computer software
- Knowledge of Retail Insurance Business Operations would be an asset
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and high level of attention to detail/accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member
- Clear listening and verbal/written communication skills & customer service skills
- Adaptability & flexibility
- Bilingualism (English/French) would be an asset
