Spark Beer is an award-winning neighbourhood brewery, taproom and pizzeria located in Ottawa’s Chinatown. We brew hoppy, sour, barrel-aged and all around fun beers. As a small team, we always need self-starters who are ridiculously organized and passionate about craft beer and pizza. As the Lead Server, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding service, leading the front-of-house team, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Server to join our team. As the Lead Server, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front-of-house staff, ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests. You will provide guidance and support to the server team, while maintaining high standards of service, hospitality, and professionalism.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead, motivate, and supervise the front-of-house team.
- Train new team members and provide ongoing coaching.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a positive and efficient work environment.
- Set an example of exceptional service by providing attentive and personalized guest experiences.
- Take orders, serve food and beverages promptly, and ensure accuracy in all transactions.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements effectively to optimize guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist in placing orders, and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Assist with social media posts.
- Uphold and enforce health and safety regulations, cleanliness standards, and licensing requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with menu offerings, beer selections, and brewing processes to provide accurate information to guests.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a server in a fast-paced restaurant or brewpub environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Strong knowledge of craft beers and a passion for the brewing industry.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a dynamic work environment.
- Proficient in point-of-sale (POS) systems and other relevant software.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- SmartServe certified.

**Salary**: $17.00 per hour
