Develop, implement, and manage environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Lead and coordinate environmental audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee the development and execution of environmental projects and initiatives, including waste management, pollution prevention, and resource conservation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into business operations and decision-making processes. - Provide guidance and training to employees on environmental best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics and progress towards sustainability goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external stakeholders on environmental matters.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the organization remains compliant and proactive in its environmental efforts.
- Supports the Emergency Response operations
- Required to participate in an on-call schedule to cover 24/7/365
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- Mandatory qualification(s), any of the below:
- an applied science technologist;
- a professional agrologist;
- a professional engineer/geoscientist; or
- a professional forester.
**Occupational Certification**:
- NFPA training will be an asset
- Certifications related to Hazardous Materials Response is preferred.
**Experience**:
- Hazardous Materials Response experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in chemical handling, transferring, and waste management, etc. asset
- Volunteer Firefighting experience is an asset.
**Knowledge**:
- Experience in working on environmental reports and analyzing data is required.
- Excellent understanding of Federal and Provincial regulations and other regulatory authorities with respect to operations
- Excellent computer skills, with a focus on Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
