Location: YMCA Camp Pine Crest, Torrance, Ontario (Transportation to camp is available at the beginning and end of the summer)

Work Hours: Must be available to work 6 days a week between Monday - Sunday, with days off predetermined by supervisor

YMCA Camping and Outdoor Education offers outdoor experiences that foster personal growth and build community. After taking part in our programs, children and youth return home more confident, independent, and with new friendships. YMCA Camp Pine Crest is an overnight camp serving children, families, and organizations through naturally focused programs that embody the mission, vision, and outcomes of the YMCA. Camp Pine Crest is made up of 650 acres of Muskoka wilderness surrounded by 3 interconnected lakes with 8km of shoreline; has over 26km of hiking trails and 7,500 sq. ft. of dock and has 60 buildings.

The Summer Food Services Coordinator works with the Kitchen Team to provide three meals a day to everyone staying on-site at Pine Crest, along with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment and following established health and safety procedures in accordance with the Ministry of Health. All staff will play an important role in planning, preparing, and presenting the meals for campers and staff, with the Summer Food Services Coordinator providing leadership under the guidance of the Food Services Director to the Kitchen Team. The Summer Food Services Coordinator will also be responsible for working with the program team to ensure a relationship of open communication within the camp, especially for kitchen program planning. The Summer Food Services Coordinator helps to create foster a team that is passionate about working with campers and families who have allergies and dietary restrictions, making sure that all campers’ have delicious and nutritious food throughout their stay at camp.

**In this role, you will**:

- Plan and prepare meals; working with the food services director to plan, prepare and serve camp meals with the kitchen team in a fun and efficient way
- Day to day supervising of the food services team; working with the food services director to provide coaching, support and guidance to the team
- Maintain a high level of food safety practices; role modeling and ensuring all team members are following food safety practices, and camp policies and procedures
- Ensure administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time including all paperwork associated with the kitchen, documentation supporting performance appraisals, accident/incident forms if required
- Support with maintaining a clean kitchen; including washing dishes as required
- Continuously builds relationships with campers, staff, volunteers, and families
- Responsible for food substitutions for guests with dietary restrictions and cultural needs; ensures awareness of guests’ food allergies and restrictions and provision of substitute food
- Responsible for attending all staff trainings and meetings; showing up on time, and actively participating contributing to the development of all staff members
- Ensure Health & Safety procedure, including outbreak management guidelines, are being followed and maintained; and shares with the staff team the duty of ensuring it is clean, organized and safe to ensure the health & safety of all campers, staff and volunteers
- Act as a positive role model for all participants and fellow staff through embodying the values of the YMCA, Pine Crest’s guiding principles, YMCA policies and procedure, and Ontario Camps Association guidelines
- Continuously builds relationships with members, staff, volunteers and community partners
- Perform other duties as assigned

**You bring**:

- Standard First Aid & CPR-C, and Food Handler Certificate required by the first day of employment and valid until at least the last day of your contract
- Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) & experience working with food allergies and dietary restrictions an asset
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and be authorized to work full time hours (37.5 hours per week)
