PAARC is a community-based, non-profit agency with charitable status, with a mission to significantly reduce the prevalence, harm and impact of addictions and concurrent disorders. Our head office is in east Mississauga, and we have satellite offices in west Mississauga and Brampton. We are well respected in our community and enjoy an excellent relationship with our funders. PAARC is funded primarily by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, through Ontario Health and the Region of Peel.

Peel Addiction Assessment and Referral Centre (PAARC) is seeking a Volunteer Board Member with the following attributes:

- Passion - Do you have a passion for PAARC’s mission? Future oriented - Are you a visionary and conceptual thinker?
- Disciplined - Are you able to commit to prepare for and attend meetings?
- Team player - Do you understand group process, or are willing to learn?
- Able to delegate - Are you able to separate governance and operations?
- Analytical skills - Can you analyze information?
- Governance knowledge - Are you willing to learn about governance?

As well as the above attributes, our Board would benefit from members with strong policy governance knowledge and accounting knowledge and skill. The Board would also benefit from members who have lived experience. The Board meets approximately 9 times per year. Meetings are 2 hours in duration and held in person and virtually. Participation on one committee is also a requirement.

Pay: $1.00 per year
