**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager, Global Engagement, the Global Mobility Coordinator (GMC) contributes to the advancement of Seneca’s internationalization goals and objectives. A key member of the Global Learning and Engagement (GLE) team, the GMC is primarily responsible for providing a comprehensive array of support services, and for the administration of inbound, and outbound global learning programs.
This is currently a hybrid role. Onsite work will vary depending on operational needs. Currently, the team works onsite anywhere from 1-2 days per week. This may be increased as required.
**Responsibilities**:
**Promotion, Communications and Recruitment**
- Develops and leads promotion and outreach activities including but not limited to information sessions, classroom presentations, and fairs to raise awareness of global mobility programs and increase student engagement and participation.
- Reviews global mobility websites for accuracy and clarity of information and develops relevant content in support of inbound and outbound student mobility programs.
- Communicates regularly and effectively with students, partner schools, academic areas, registrar’s office, student services, and other stakeholders to advise on global mobility program policies and procedures.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for global mobility students and partners, providing exceptional customer service, timely and accurate information, and effective problem resolution while building and maintaining strong relationships with international partners.
**Delivery and Development of support programs**
- Develops and delivers welcome orientations and provides continual support to inbound students, working closely with academic areas, student services, and the registrar’s office to ensure their successful transition to the classroom and address any challenges that arise during their stay.
- Develops and facilitates pre-departure/welcome programming, transition, and re-entry workshops for students to advance cross-cultural understanding, and supports students to develop, identify and articulate essential employability skills through education abroad.
- Designs and facilitates comprehensive pre-departure orientations which include health, safety and security briefings, insurance and travel risk procedures, emergency response protocols, strategies to mitigate risk while abroad, and the completion of required pre-departure documentation.
**Travel Safety and Risk Management**
- Develops and delivers relevant health, safety and security training in collaboration with Seneca’s travel risk management partner, International SOS (ISOS).
- Monitors government and ISOS travel risk advisories.
- Researches, reports and advises on travel risk best practices, and conducts ongoing risk assessments for global mobility program destinations. Also tracks and monitors students while abroad through ISOS Tracker for adherence to travel policies; liaises with Seneca Security, ISOS and Manager on an as-needed basis to support emergency response.
- Ensures global mobility programs are delivered in accordance with Seneca’s travel risk policies and guides academic areas and other stakeholders on travel requirements and compliance.
- Collaborates in post-incident reporting, evaluates the effectiveness of emergency response protocols and provides recommendations for improvement to Manager.
**Programs Administration & Evaluation**
- Organizes and coordinates the student selection process, and communicates with students on all aspects of their mobility program.
- Facilitates group travel planning and logistics including, but not limited to ground transportation, flights, accommodations, extracurricular activities, visa administration, etc.
- Develops program budgets, supports all financial transactions, and maintains accurate financial records for relevant global mobility programs, in accordance with Seneca’s finance policies and procedures.
- Supports the drafting of service contracts and coordinates with Seneca’s finance team to facilitate payments in a timely manner and in accordance with service agreements.
- Collaborates with academic areas and the registrar’s office to ensure appropriate course registrations, fees and credits transfers are applied; sends and receives transcripts to/from partner schools and supports the credit transfer process.
