**About the Role**

Haliscape Construction is seeking a reliable and skilled **Heavy Equipment Operator** to join our growing team. This full-time, year-round position involves **operating excavators, loaders, and skid steers** for landscaping, site work, and **on-call winter snow removal**.

You’ll work on a variety of residential construction and landscaping projects throughout **West Bedford and Dartmouth**, with occasional work across other **HRM** areas, with steady hours through every season.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Safely operate excavators, loaders, and skid steers for grading, trenching, and material handling.
- Perform site prep, loading, hauling, and earthworks as directed.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Support snow removal operations during winter (on-call 24/7 during snow events; higher hourly rate applies).
- Assist the crew with physical tasks such as raking, shoveling, and site cleanup.
- Maintain safe and organized work areas.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience operating heavy equipment (excavator, loader, or skid steer).
- Skid steer experience (foot control preferred).
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable transportation — job sites are **not accessible by public transit**.
- Comfortable with both equipment operation and physical labour.
- Mechanically inclined and safety-focused.
- Dependable and able to work well in a team.

**Working Conditions**
