We are seeking a People Analytics Specialist based out of our North American Head Quarters in Edmonton to support our Corporate Human Resources Department by providing data analytics, insights and reporting for the HR function enterprise wide. The People Analytics Specialist is responsible for developing a strong understanding of the organizations strategic plan, objectives, and legislative requirements which they will leverage to provide reporting and data analysis to help evolve PCL’s People and Culture practices. The incumbent will have strong critical thinking skills and be a valued thought leader advancing new ideas to analysis data and enable leaders and PCL team members to drive the right work and areas of focus forward.
The successful incumbent will naturally lean toward continuous improvement in how things are done and look to technology as an enabler of good workflow and data analysis. Here's how a People Analytics Specialist for our Edmonton NAHQ office contributes to our team:
**Responsibilities**:
- Collects data from various sources such as surveys, industry benchmarks as well as internal data to analyze and interpret data related to various aspects of human resources, including workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, compensation and benefits, and employee engagement.
- Sources and analyze large volumes of workforce data from a variety of resources using statistical and advanced analytical techniques to identify correlations and causal factors to derive meaningful insights.
- Serves as a information conduit across the human resources function.
- Builds relationships with HR Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders to understand their data business priorities; analyze business requirements against system (Employee Central/PowerBI) reporting capabilities.
- Applies data analysis and research skills to identify key indicators and develop predictive modeling for key employee life cycle events.
- Contributes towards new development and/or enhancement of HR reporting and analytics practices, tools, methodologies and processes.
**Qualifications**:
- A bachelor's degree or higher in human resources, business administration, statistics, or a related field.
- 4-5 years of experience in progressively more complex human resources analysis, including data collection, analysis and reporting preferred.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholder groups and negotiating the complexity of the different interests, perspectives, and objectives.
- Intermediate to expert level skills using reporting and dashboard systems.
- Strong personal accountability demonstrated by your commitment to producing consistently excellent results with the ability to incorporate feedback into future work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effective prioritization skills, with the ability to work with mínimal supervision under deadline pressure while managing multiple assignments in a matrix environment.
- Ability to anticipate, assess and readily adapt to changing priorities, maintain resiliency and effectively work in a changing environment.
- Knowledge of and interest in the policy issues and priorities of the construction industry would be an asset.
