**Summary of the Position**
The Financial Analyst in IT Business Management (ITBM) will play a pivotal role in overseeing IT finance reporting, reporting directly to the Director of IT Business Management. This position involves working closely with our client, a leading entity in the mining industry, to enhance the management of assets and technology investments at their Toronto office.
The primary responsibilities include tracking budget performance, forecasting future financial obligations, and contributing to the transformation of IT into a business-centric function by consistently measuring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial performance.
**Responsibilities**:
- Monitor Capex and Opex Budget Performance for IT at a corporate level, providing monthly reports on budget vs. actuals, forecasts, and IT function expenditures. Explain variances on a monthly basis
- Lead IT Financial Planning for the corporate office, gathering budgetary requirements from IT functional areas for a 3-year Capex and Opex budget submitted annually for approval
- Track financials for both IT and business projects, collaborating with IT Procurement, Vendor Management, and Contract Management to align with legal practices at the corporate office
- Report IT costs and track expenses related to contracts, licenses, and services, offering visibility into technology costs and monitoring Shadow IT
- Provide monthly IT time allocation reports and IT cross-charge reports to the Tax department for intercompany cost sharing
- Maintain high personal productivity while fostering collaboration with stakeholders
**Compensation**
Commensurate with experience, hourly rate. $34-$38 CAD per hour
**Location**
This role will be a hybrid working model, which will require 3 days per week in one of our client sites located within the financial district of downtown Toronto (Commerce Court North, 25 King St W, Toronto, Ontario M5L 1L5).
You must be fully permitted to live and work in Canada during the duration of this contract.
**Job Requirements**
- A minimum of a University Degree or College Diploma in Business, Finance and Accounting, or Computer disciplines with three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience
- Experience working with IT functions and business areas, demonstrating an understanding of technology use at a company level and business principles
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong critical and analytical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Effective prioritization and deadline management skills
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- High Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Products and SharePoint
- Functional and non-functional analysis skills
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills
- Preference given to those with experience using JD Edwards (SCM Module), Insight Reporting (Hubble), and Service Now
