Generator Technician

**As a Generator Technician you will**
- Performing routine maintenance, repairs, and emergency service.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, complete service and inspection reports, and communicate with management to provide solutions for clients.
- Test for, measure, and verify electrical component operations, including energized components and electrical fields.
- Program, test, and commission transfer switches.
- Operate/diagnose engine driven gensets powered by diesel or natural gas.
- Perform load-bank testing on gensets.
- Work within, and ensure compliance with various client driven, as well as ministry and regulatory safety protocols.
- Perform on-hour service, as well as rotating on-call shifts, and opportunities for overtime.
- Perform work related travel, with occasional overnight trips.

**Is this role right for you?**
- You have strong customer service and communication skills.
- You are organized and have the ability to plan out several days work at a time.
- You have strong Mechanical Knowledge and experience of at least 3 years.
- You have a valid Driver’s License in good standing.
- You preferably have a strong Electrical Aptitude and experience of at least 2 years.
- You preferably have experience in Generator Field Service or other type of Field Service Work of at least 2 years.
- You preferably have experience with Diesel Engines.
- You can quickly identify problems and communicate larger issues to management effectively.
- You enjoy the variety of working alone and as a team.
- Formal training or education in mechanical, electrical, or power generation technology is a strong asset.
