**Duties and Responsibilities**:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the development and coordination of the university wide Carleton University Student Leadership Initiative (CUSLI). The CUSLI program is designed to help students acquire the skills to lead multidisciplinary teams and foster leadership skills that can support societal change. The CUSLI is an interactive curriculum program integrating leadership training with hands-on learning experiences for students to learn from leaders and experts across different fields. Students practice the skills required to have complicated conversations and build self-awareness through strengths-focused self-reflective activities and work collaboratively throughout the term. Through the initiative, students are empowered to lead people, projects, and conversations that inspire change, and as a result, are prepared to become well-rounded leaders, capable of discussing and creating innovative solutions to complex issues.

**Qualifications**:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

- Previous experience developing and coordinating student programs and activities.
- Understanding of student transition and the importance of student engagement and leadership.
- Understanding of student development theory and intentional program design.
- Experience with data analysis of related technology to research, record, analyze, evaluate, present and transfer information to assess effectiveness.
- Experience with financial planning, payments, budget reconciliation and tracking.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with diplomacy, sensitivity, tact and discretion, to liaise successfully with all levels of management and executive members, both internally and externally, and to professionally represent the Faculty and University.
- The ability to work independently with excellent judgement, initiative and resourcefulness.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of cultural competency and diversity in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of customer/client services and office administration policies, procedures, and processes.
- Knowledge of administrative and academic policies and procedures, as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions.
- Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, digital communications, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices.

**Education and Experience**:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of two years of related administrative and program coordination experience, preferably in an academic setting
- Experience with leadership development programming is an asset
