**Position Overview**: We are looking for a motivated, technically skilled intern to join our Network and Security team. This role focuses on advancing automation to improve the speed, accuracy, and consistency of wired and wireless network deployments, while introducing AI-driven solutions to enhance productivity and output quality. Two key projects included in this role include Network Automation Enhancement and AI Assistant Development for Network Engineering.
- **Please note: This role will be full-time hours (37.5 hours per week), for a duration of 4 months (May 4 to August 21, 2026), with a rate of $22.00/hour.**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with network engineers and consultants to understand workflows and documentation standards
- Enhance existing automation tools using Ansible and Terraform
- Maintain code using Git-based workflows
- Assist with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
- Design and prototype an internal AI Assistant
- Implement retrieval-based AI capabilities over approved internal documentation
- Support AI-assisted generation of standardized internal and customer-facing documents
- Ensure all AI outputs are reviewed by humans prior to customer use
- Document solutions, processes, and usage guidelines for long-term sustainability
**Skills & Qualifications**:
- Foundational understanding of AI and machine learning concepts through coursework or projects
- Hands-on experience with small AI, scripting, or automation projects
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, VLANs, routing, security fundamentals)
- Experience or familiarity with Python, YAML, or similar languages
- Exposure to Git or other version control systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- You must currently be a post-secondary student
- You must be comfortable working in a hybrid work model with a combination of remote plus onsite work
